Variegated yarns have multiple colors in one skein. Some colorways have subtle color changes while others are more visible. They will sometimes pool, especially the colorways with distinct color changes. If you like the colors together, but don’t like pooling — try alternating skeins every one or two rows! These yarns will add some interest to your next stockinette project, but will lose their brilliance in more complicated stitch patterns like lace.

Please keep in mind that each yarn base takes the dye differently so the same color may look differently on two bases. Part of the fun of hand dyed yarns! Also, while I try my best to capture the correct color of the yarns, monitor settings vary greatly so please keep that in mind as you’re drooling over the loveliness.

  1. Love the new names…it’s like sitting on the OPI name the color for this collection of nail polish…what to buy first just for the name. Good Luck on your new adventures.
